James W. Maxson “Jimmy” passed away on February 16 at the age of 62. Jimmy was born in Van Wert, Ohio and has lived in Oradell for over 55 years. He had retired as a tree surgeon for the Oradell Department of Public Works and had been a former Chief of Oradell Fire Department. Jimmy is the son of Anne Maxson-Bouderaux of Easley S.C. and the late Bill Maxson. Husband of Denise Maxson (Tornese), father of Kristen and Douglas, brother of Tom Maxson of Easley, S.C. There will be a memorial gathering on February 19 from 7 to 9 pm at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road Oradell. In lieu of flowers donations to the Oradell Public Library would be appreciated. His cremation was private

Clarke, Alice B., of Hillsdale, passed away on March 3, 2015 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband Louis J. Clarke in 1984 after 39 years of marriage. Alice is survived by her devoted children Donald Clarke and his fiancée Marina Mimica, Denise Caleca and her husband Joseph. Loving Grandmother to Kristen and Alex Mendelson, Kimberly and Anthony, Donna and Blake, Christine, Danielle, Brittany and Michael and Josito. Great-grandmother to Laura. Dear sister of Anne Rosenberg. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Funeral Services will be conducted in the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell Friday March 6, 2015 at 10 AM. Interment following George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Thursday March 5, 2015 from 4-8 PM. Praschil, Joan C., passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2015 at the age of 81 and was a longtime resident of Emerson. She had retired as a radiology receptionist at Pascak Valley Hospital. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Franklin D. Praschil (1982) and best friend Eleanor Karausky (2009). Devoted mother of Sandra Occhiuzzi and her husband Robert, Susan L. Sweatlock and her husband Joseph, Franklin K. Praschil and his wife Elizabeth and Diane VanDeWeghe and her husband Alan. Cherished grandmother of Dana, Joseph, Robert, Keith, Johanna, Marisa, Franklin, Conner and Madeline. Very proud great-grandmother of Catherine Rose. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-6 PM at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderamack Road Oradell. A Prayer Service will be at 3:30 PM. Mary Ennis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday March 21, 2015 at the age of 87. This was possible due to the dedicated caregivers of Life Source Hospice. Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had attended Adelphia University. She was a resident of Oradell, N.J. for almost 70 years. Beloved wife of the late William Ennis, former Oradell Police Chief, loving mother of Maureen Panissidi and her husband Ronald, cherished grandmother of William Panissidi, and sister of Michael Nicolettiof NC and Stanley Nicoletti of CO. Mary is also survived by brothers-in-law Edward Ennis and his wife Betty and Robert Ennis and his wife Barbara, sisters-in-law Ida Ennis and Vivienne Ennis as well as many nieces and nephews. Although Mary worked outside of her home, her favorite roles were wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time at her summer home at Lake Ashuelot in Washington, NH, and the many trips with her friends.She was a member of the Oradell Book and Needle Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. Her funeral will be 9 am Thursday from the funeral home thence to St.Joseph’s R.C. Church for a mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Road, Mahwah. Memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to Life Source Hospice 230 E. Ridgewood Ave. Ste 307 Paramus, N.J. 07652.

Dr. Zareh Hovanesian, was born in Tehran, Iran, on October 29, 1927. He was the fifth child of Minas and Siranoush Hovanesian. Dr. Zareh married Mariam Simonian on August 12, 1955. He is survived by his wife devoted wife Marian, two daughters Nora and Stella, two great son in laws, Bryan and Razmik and 4 wonderful grandchildren, Gregory, Caroline, Ani and Armen. Education: Dr. Zareh attended the University of Tehran where he earned his degree in Internal Medicine in 1955. He then came to the United States to three years (1957-1960) to complete his Internship and Residency at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, NY. His continued his medical education specializing in Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Affiliation with Columbia University. Medical practice: Dr. Zareh returned to Iran and set up a private Medical practice for some 20 years. He was also the Physician of the American Embassy in Tehran for 8 year, IBM corporation and the British firm, Gray McKenzie for 15 years. He was a member of the American Medical Association as well as the Armenian Medical Association. Public Service: Dr. Zareh was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church. He was a member of the Executive Council of the Armenian Prelacy where he served for 12 years. He sponsored 5 K walk from Armenia to Artsakh. Dr, Zareh and Marian Hovanesian sponsored the construction of a Psychiatric Clinic in Spitak Armenia to treat the victims suffering from losses due to the earthquake in Spitak in 1988. He was a sponor for planting Project of 1,000 trees in Armenia. Being a passionate collector of coins and stamps, in 1991, Dr. Zareh began to compile data to publish a book recounting the Armenian historical events through its Philatelic History. His book was published in 2000 and dedicated to the memory of the Armenians killed during the 1915 Genocide. His last wish and project was to create a stamp from an oil painting he created in 1991. The painting depicted Tsiternagabert”, the Monument symbolizing and honoring the Martyrs and victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The stamp was created in January of 2015 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and has been circulated for use. Dr Zareh Hovanesian passed away on April 24th, a very symbolic day in Armenian history.

Michael Prudenti, 93, formally of Maywood presently of Saddle River, NJ passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Born in Newark, N.J. to Marie and Joseph Prudenti. He was a distinguished World War II Army Veteran, serving time in Africa and Italy. Michael was a 1993 World Trade Center bombing survivor. Michael is survived by Connie Prudenti; his wife and best friend of over 68 years! Michael was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Marie Cupo, (her husband Vincent), Irene Feldsott, (her husband Robert) and grandchildren: Angela (Adam), Vincent-Michael, Lindsey, Allison and Lexi. Mike loved spending time with the family; fishing, wood building, strawberry ice cream shakes and the Yankees. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm at William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ on Sunday April 26; followed by a Funeral Mass at Presentation Catholic Church Monday at 11:00 am, Michael will be laid to rest at the Bergen County, World War II memorial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J.

She was the daughter of the late Kamyk and Aznef Simonian of Providence, RI. Mabel was predeceased by her loving Husband, Harry Manoogian, Older brother Pete Johnson and younger sister Virginia Madoian. She is survived by her only son Daniel of Kinnelon. She was most proud of her five grandchildren Aram and fiancée Natasha Houze, Alexa and Husband Michael Corless, Haig, Michael and Carly, along with two great grandchildren Wesley and Eloise. She is also survived by her sister Sylvia Simonian of Providence, RI. She was a devoted wife for 57 years and experienced her most happiness in raising her son and seeing her grandchildren grow up. She was overjoyed to be able to meet her two great grandchildren and felt truly blessed by the love of all her extended family and friends. She was a longtime member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian church of Ridgefield. Funeral services Tuesday 10:30AM at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, Ridgefield interment following George Washington Memorial Park Paramus.
