Chester, Robert K. (Chet) passed on May 1, 2015 at the age of 83. Bob was a longtime resident of New Milford. He retired as Superintendent from the New Milford DPW after 32 years of service. As an active member in his community he had served in many various capacities. Korean War Veteran and Commander of VFW Post 4290 of New Milford. Bob was the beloved husband of 52 years to Elizabeth. Devoted father to Peggy Tozzi (Paul), Paul Nelson (Pam), Kenneth Nelson (Jamie) , Gary Nelson (Debbie) and the late Richard Nelson. Dear brother to the late Raymond Chester and Jean Brown. Cherished Grandfather to Paul Jr., Adam. Jared, Suzanne, Darryl and Kristen. Great Grandfather to Teagen, Pia,Gavin, Makayla, Kannika , Rebekah and Kennedy. On Tuesday evening there will be prayer service at 7:30 pm followed by a VFW memorial service at 8 pm during his visitation. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road Oradell. Funeral Services 10 am Wednesday with interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.

GUDZOWSKY Lilo, of Fair Lawn and Toms River, passed away on April 4, 2015, embraced by family. Born in Germany, Lilo was a medical laboratory technician in Berlin and Bavaria, where she met her beloved late husband of 55 years, George. Married in London, they moved to the U.S. in 1960. Lilo was a retail salesperson for Ohrbach’s and Bon-Ton, retiring after 25 years. A devoted, loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by Nina and Dominic Bianco, Nicole Gudzowsky, Marcus Bianco, Christina and Mark Forwood, and Gina Bianco. Visiting will be Saturday, May 2, 11 AM-12:30 PM, William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell, followed by graveside service at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus. Donations may be made to The N.J. Capital Philharmonic Orchestra and the American Cancer Society.

Dempsey, Deanna of Emerson, New Jersey, formerly of White Plains, New York passed away on May 22, 2015 at the age of 72. Ms. Dempsey, a retired Chief in the United States Navy, had been stationed in Newport, RI; San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Paris Island, SC; Tokyo, Japan; London, England and Bethesda, MD. After her military retirement she worked in the private sector as a Dental Prosthetist for the University of Maryland in Baltimore and for JF Jelenko in Armonk, NY. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was an avid traveler. Aunt Dea enjoyed spending time with her friends Eda and Nelly; and her great-nephews Daniel and Nicholas were the light of her life. She is survived by her sister Barbara and her husband Michael Newman, her nieces Donna Milburn and Patt Pointsett-Nalley, and their husbands Donald and Danny, her nephews David Salerno, Frank Salerno and his wife Joanne, her great-nephews Nicholas and Daniel Salerno, Aidan Milburn and Evan Poinsett Foster and great niece Sarah Hinman. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road, in Oradell, NJ from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Basralian on Thursday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Institute for Educational Achievement, 381 Madison Avenue, New Milford, NJ 07646.

Domenick Anthony Robolino, 88, a longtime resident of New Milford and Member of the New Milford Knights of Columbus, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2015. Domenick retired as an upholsterer from Bergen County Decorators, Hillsdale. Loving husband of Ann, devoted father to Donna Reiner and her husband Paul, Doreen Reed and her husband Don, and Susan Schwartz and her husband Steven. Dear brother to Angelina Rotella and the late Nicholas Robolino. Cherished grandfather of Christopher and his wife Morgan, Anthony, Samantha, Kyle and Tyler. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at Saint Anthony’s Church, Northvale on Saturday, June 6th at 11 AM Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Charles E. Rauh of Emerson, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 1st. He was the son of Charles Rauh and Gertrude Rauh (Schneider). He was born on March 30, 1929 in Bogota, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother Gerard Rauh and is survived by his brother Stephen Rauh and sister Gertrude Becker. Mr. Rauh attended St. Peter’s College, Jersey City and graduated with a BS in Chemistry. Upon graduation he went to work for Lederle Laboratories as a research neuro bio chemist, where he remained until his retirement. The joy of his life was his beloved wife Lillian (Allen) with whom he shared 62 years of marriage until her death in October of 2013. Together they enjoyed a full life along with their five children who will continue to carry on his legacy. Charles Rauh, Daniel (Karen) Rauh, Mary Ellen (Paul) McIntyre, Anne Marie (Sean) Hall and Eileen (Michael) Kempton. He was the cherished grandfather of Megan, Daniel, Thomas, Michael, Sean, Kevin, Christopher, Evan and Stephen. Great grandfather to Charles Daniel. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at St. Andrews Church 120 Washington Ave. Westwood, NJ at 10:30 am on Wednesday June 3rd. Burial at Ascension Cemetery to follow. NICOLICH, Marco John passed away on November 10, 2015. Marco was born in New York City, and was a longtime resident of New Milford. He was retired from the New York Telephone Company where he had been employed for many years. Marco enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, and spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Marco will be missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Phyllis. Cherished father of Mark and his wife Claudine, Steven and his wife Donna, Donna and her husband Keith, Robert and his wife Vicky, and Susan and her husband Steven. Marco was also a caring brother to Nicolina Cecco and her husband Tony, and the late Mary Buczinsky. Proud grandfather to Melissa, Vincent, Kristen, Jamie, Michael, Joseph, Robert, Lauren, Skyler, Samantha, and Sydni. Loving uncle to Anthony and Linda. CAPUANO, Rose J. passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015. She was born in West New York, NJ on March 19, 1927. Her first job was at Bourjois in NYC, the makers of Evening in Paris perfume. She was later employed for Stern’s in their credit department, and in the billing department of Sharlin Radiological Associates in Hackensack, before retiring in 1987. Her greatest joy was decorating and keeping her home spotless and cooking for her family in her home in New Milford, and later in Lakehurst, NJ. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Lucy and Nicholas Telesca, her brothers Leonard and Michael Telesca, her sister Catherine Telesca and her beloved husband Thomas Capuano. She is survived by her loving daughter, LuAnn Capuano Miroddi, and her son-in-law Victor Miroddi, of Washington Township, NJ, her loving son Michael Capuano and daughter-in-law Stacie Feller Capuano, of Manahawkin, NJ, and four grandchildren, Anthony and Stephanie Miroddi, and Rebecca and Gabrielle Capuano. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Paul DelRosso, of Weehawken, her sister-in-law’s Leonora Telesca of Cliffside Park, Marie Capuano of New Milford, and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral will be on Monday 9am from the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell, thence to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Oradell for a mass of Christian burial at 10am. Interment following Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.

Barragato, Anna M. joined her husband Sal on their anniversary date of sixty seven years November 21, 2015. Sal had passed away on September 22, 2015 and had prepared a way for his wife to join him and now they are reunited forever. Born in New York City, Anna lived many years in New York, New Milford and Upper Saddle River New Jersey before moving to Westlake Village California. Anna had retired from Bloomingdales after many years of service. She loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed movies and television and especially her favorite soaps, Days of our Lives and Young and the Restless. She especially loved to visit Atlantic City and Las Vegas and anywhere there were slot machines. She is survived by her children Grace Drulias and her husband Dean, Carl Barragato and his wife Lori, Laurie Jaeger and her husband Phil and Salvatore M. Barragato. Beloved grandmother of Laycee Barragato Gibson and her husband Jacob and Lyndcee Barragato. Visitation will be on Sunday November 29 from 2-6 pm at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road Oradell. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 30th at 10AM at The Church of the Presentation 271 W. O’Grady, Daniel C., 81, Longtime resident of New Milford passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 4, 2016. Dan was a Reporter for the New York Daily News for 34 years. He graduated Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, NY and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. Dan, or DanDan to his close family, will be remembered for his booming personality, sense of humor, generosity, and honesty that was delivered with a quick Irish wit. When Dan O’Grady walked into a room he filled it. To quote Dan’s self-made business card, he was a “Reporter & One Helluva Human Being”, a character till the end. God Bless. Daniel was predeceased by his brother Patrick O’Grady.
