Mercadante, Frank R. a longtime resident of New Milford passed away peacefully at his home on December 3 at the age of 94. Frank was a decorated World War II Veteran who served in the 11th Armored Division of the 22nd Tank Battalion; Company C. He was a recipient of the following decorations and citations: The Purple Heart, American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Frank worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 25 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose of 62 years in 2009. Frank is the loving father of Marilyn Mercadante. His funeral will be Friday 9 am from the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road Oradell thence to St. Joseph’s RC Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
