Brown, James Alex age 68 of Maywood formerly of New York City died Monday, January 7, 2013. Beloved husband of Lortan Clark-Brown. Devoted father of James Alex Brown, Jr., Mania Harmitt and Radcliff Rose. Dear grandfather of Kemet Rose, Schannel, Shamika and Jahmika Harmitt and Amanda Daws Loving brother of Eloise Brown and her husband Harris G. Ives. Dear uncle of Amy L. M. Ives, Tyson J. M. Ives, Airi Okano Ives and Tasha Lewis. James was the pioneer of the Surgical Technician field at Holy Name Hospital where he worked for over 40 years. During that time he was also a dedicated and faithful member of the Harlem Church of Christ. James’ extended families both at Holy Name and Harlem Church will forever cherish his memory. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 4-8 PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home.
