Schwabik, Aeline Edna (nee) Johnson age 95 died Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Devoted wife of the late Joseph A. Schwabik (1968). The daughter of John F. and Hilda Johnson, she was born and grew up on Colden Ave., in the Bronx, NY, and lived in Dumont, NJ, Peekskill, NY, and New Milford, NJ, before moving to Bergenfield, NJ. She was confirmed at the Messiah Lutheran Church in New York City and married her beloved husband Joseph at the Swedish Emanuel Church in Mount Vernon, NY. They were also members of Grace Lutheran Church of Yorktown Heights, NY and Trinity Lutheran Church of Tenafly, NJ. As a child, she enjoyed walking home from school through the Bronx Zoo and would stop to watch the seals play at the seal lion pool. She loved music, in High School she sang at Carnegie Hall; and as a young woman she sang in the church choir. Aeline worked as a secretary at Travelers Insurance, NYC, after many years of being a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother, she went back to work for Parents Magazine in Bergenfield, NJ and for the North Shore Animal League in Teaneck, NJ. Aeline enjoyed traveling. She spent wonderful vacations with her family and extended families in Burlington, VT, and then later with her friends, having memorable times on cruises to Bermuda, fun times in Hawaii, and summer vacations at the Jersey Shore. She is survived by her sister Gladys (Johnson) Olson, son Robert Schwabik, son Kenneth Schwabik and his wife Maureen (Costello), daughter Karen (Schwabik) and her husband Gerard Quinn of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, grandchildren Michael Schwabik, Kelly (Schwabik) and her husband Chris Claytor, Kenny Schwabik, II and his wife Colleen (Hammel), Glenn Schwabik, great-grandchildren Liam and Donovan Schwabik and Caitlin and Colin Claytor. Family pets Molly (2007) and Maddie. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. A funeral service will be held at 9:45AM on Saturday. Interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery.
